Missouri Coalition of Nurses in Advanced Practice

MCNAP's purpose and change for 2024

Posted 10 months ago by Jessy Sorrick

Hello, over the past few years, MCNAP has experienced a decline in consistent meetings and attendance.

Originally MCNAP was founded in the early 1990s by Maureen Brown to help nurse practitioners to obtain CMEs, which nowadays it no longer serves this purpose.

However, most would agree it serves a purpose of connecting nurse practitioners from different fields, networking between students and preceptors, fellow camaraderie, and sharing knowledge.

Thus, to continue to offer the opportunity of meeting and learning together, we will focus on having our meetings four times a year. Hopefully this change in frequency of meetings will also encourage greater participation in our meetings.

If you have any drug representative contact information to host a MCNAP meeting, please forward to Beth Geden at gedene@umsystem.edu

Thank you.

Meetings are also helpful to students seeking clinical preceptors.
